Rapid Cash Generator:How to benefit and make an online business with Rapid Cash Generator.

Finding markets for book info products, this can be quite stressful, time consuming and disheartening. The markets are there and can be found with knowhow. In this article I'm going to show you a simple strategy you can use for finding as many niche markets to sell ebooks to as you could want.

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

The above resource won't cost you a penny to sign up to. Go to the above site and start typing in niche markets that interest you. If you had an interest in dogs you'd type in "dogs, if you had an interest in "sailing" then you'd type in "sailing." Then all you need to do is make a list of all of the sub niches within the general niche market of dogs and sailing. These are all potential niches for you to exploit.

http://www.amazon.com

The bookselling giants amazon.com are an amazing resource for finding niche markets you'd never have thought about entering. Go to the web site and in the search bar select "books". Then type in a niche you'd like to create a product around. For example type in "gardening". Go through the results and start jotting down all of the niche markets that jump out at you.

When many people hear this technique they immediately think "wait a sec how can I compete with Amazon?". You won't be of course you'll be catering for a different market. As ebook publishers we can offer instant gratification as our customers get our info products straight away as a download and do not have to wait days for a book to arrive.

Downloadable info products are seen to have a higher perceived value. You might be able to charge fifteen dollars for a book selling it via Amazon. However if you sell a downloadable info product you can charge up to fifty dollars. Crazy but true.

http://www.dummies.com/

This is another fantastic research tool for the niche ebook publisher. You can find a ton of niche topics across all of the "For Dummies" books. The Dummies company has made creating niche products an art form in its own right. Search through their titles in general niches that interest you and jot down potential ebook topics.

http://www.goarticles.com/

Article directories are the best way to find subjects to create ebooks around. The directory Go Articles is just one of many in which you can go to the site, type in a niche subject in the search bar and get literally thousands and thousands of ebook ideas. All without cost.

The key here when visiting these sites is to just make a huge list of potential topics, and then when you're done go to http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ and type in your topics. If there are people searching for information on the subject (at least five thousand a month) you've just found an ebook topic that could turn into a very lucrative home based business.

I want to quickly dispel a myth about the internet. Don't for one second think you can just throw up a site, sit back and become rich. Many would have you believe the internet is just one huge get rich quick scheme. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Done properly ebook publishing can change your financial situation dramatically but you have to put some time and effort in. This is where the Rapid Cash Generator system can be of great help.

We're not aiming to become a millionaire here. We want to build a network of mini sites that each make about 1K a month. Being able to come up with an endless amount of niche product ideas is the key here, then all you need to do is create the product.

I know what you're thinking. "All you need to do" is create a product. They're hard to create right? Well no actually you don't need to write a single sentence of your ebook. You can hire people to do so at elance.com. For around five hundred to seven hundred bucks freelance writers will create the entire book for you.

You are an internet marketer, not a writer. Have one product created, set up pay per click campaigns, write a press release and blast a few articles over the net on the topic of your ebook. Then have another one created, do the same, and just rinse and repeat.

Multiple streams of autopilot income is the secret of wealthy entrepreneurs from around the globe. Now thanks to ebooks and the internet, anyone can set up streams of income that sends money into their bank account even whilst they sleep.

A New Religion for The Technological Age

When recently I read a book titled "What We Believe But Cannot Prove", edited by John Brockman, I realised that so much of what we "believe" is based on nonsense, fiction, suspect 'scientific fact', and good old wishful thinking. At the end of the day there are things that are knowable and things that aren't and we have to accept that and just get on with our lives. Take the idea of God for example.

Religions purporting to be associated with this or that God have been around as long as we have. Of our current religions, Buddhists believe that there is no God; Christians follow the alleged teachings of the 'Son of God', Muslims are sure that Mohammed (Praise Be Unto Him) was the last prophet who laid down God's dictum for human behaviour. Only the Hare Krishna religion is brave enough to state that Krishna WAS God who had appeared as Krishna and makes regular appearances as different living beings. Of course there are numerous other religious themes pandering to the inner needs of those who can't live without the certainty that there is a higher being who loves them and cares for their every need.

At the end of the day, nobody can say with any degree of certainty if any of the current crop of religions is accurate or autentic or if in fact there is a supreme being lording it over us. Gladly, the atheists and agnostics fall into the same boat ... nobody knows whether they are right or wrong. It's a Catch 22 situation that has led to much debate, wonderful constructions and artwork, beautiful music, and much bloodshed over the past few thousand years.

But, historically, most religions have been assigned to the waste basket which is a good indicator that the religions of our time will come and go too ... nothing in this world is permanent after all. The question is, what new religions will follow the demise of our current trend of religions?

Well, I'm happy to say that there is no need to panic as there is at least one new religion evolving that is as interesting as any of the current religions and in many cases, much more sensible (my view of course). Details of the religion I'm referring to are said to have been stored in earthly repositories awaiting the time in human developmental history in which we could sufficiently understand and explore its tenets. That time is now and the information that will help us better understand ourselves, our colleagues and the universe in which we live, is being released gradually and will continue to be released for a decade or two to come.

Much of the understanding that stems from this new religion is captured in beautiful music, artwork and philosophical writings. There is no original sin, no rewards and punishments, miracles, night time revelations or commandments that tell us what to do and how to do it. Rather, it is intended to open our subconscious to a new way of thinking and living.

Unfortunately, there is no rock solid guarantee that what is being revealed to us now is any more true than any of the other stuff that has been revealed through the current crop of religions. But those who believe in God will be heartened to know that this new religion acknowledges a First Source intelligence central to all that is. He, she or it lives so far away from here that it is necessary to employ a Central Race of beings to populate multiverses that extend far and wide through what we call the universe.

By now, I expect you will be saying, "Oh, yeah, more alien visitor BS". I did too. However, I have an open, inquisitive mind and asked myself whether it is any less feasible that our originators came from the heavens than it is that we evolved through billions of accidents over billions of years. And I had to answer that it isn't (I've never accepted the evolution argument in its entirety). Maybe there is a First Source. Maybe First Source created a race of beings to do the hard work (wouldn't you do that rather than do it all yourself?). Maybe what is being revealed is finally something that we can count on as being truthful. I don't know. What I do know is that it is a very interesting read and well worth exploring if you are in any way interested in philosophy or religion.

You'll find information about the New Religion at the following site: http://www.wingmakers.com. It is not a bunch of new age baloney being pushed by a group of weirdos, rather, much of the discussion is indeed very intelligent if at times complex. I'm sure you'll find it interesting as I have. Look for the video introduction, it's really excellent.

21st Century Criminals

This seemingly faceless and non-violent from of criminal activity has hit home for many of us in the community in recent months with the child pornography scandal. Many people have been taken into custody and many computers confiscated. Regardless of how people try and justify things, there is no excuse for either possessing images or participating in these vile acts. This is a disgusting element in our society that has grown into a worldwide industry with millions of dollars changing hands. The only real way to stop this perpetuating, is to stop the demand for it because, it is as always the most vulnerable that are being exploited. Additionally in countries with less stringent laws and policing systems it is harder to protect the kids. While we live in a country where dobbing or whistle blowing is never looked upon very favourably, I think all of us realise that we have a fundamental responsibility to protect those who cannot otherwise defend themselves.

With movies like Oceans 11, the idea of robbing a casino seems romantic and almost possible. Only now, rather than seeking control of real casinos, gangsters are extorting cash from virtual casinos which are the fastest growth sector of gambling. The first known wave of threats came last September, with cyber-mafia using massive spam attacks to slow betting sites. The major weapon of choice is Denial of Service (DOS) attacks as online betting sites are bombarded with requests rendering it to the point of collapse. Then a message is sent to the site demanding a sum of money in exchange for stopping the attack. Alarming one CEO has already stated, I think everybody who has been attacked has paid."

However, it is not all bad news, as some technology is designed to catch the criminals instead of aid them. I feel safer doing my killing in home state was a quote from a US serial killer prior to his execution. Law enforcement officers now have a new computer tool at their disposal which tracks criminals based on geography with stunning results. Coming from Canada and the US in the last decade a software program has been developed which documents information like where bodies were discovered, last know sighting of victims, etc. and then using thousands of calculations and prior criminal cases produces a coloured 3D map of where the perpetrator most likely resides. It one particular case not only did it pinpoint the murderers house within a block, it predicted his race, employment and marital status. At worst it at least gives Police a good place to start door knocking.

Try These Scrabble House Rules

Any family with a Scrabble tradition has doubtless developed their own set of house rules, particularly if that household includes children requiring modifications. House rules can make play more interesting and lively, place an emphasis on learning rather than competition, or simply be used to speed the game up. Below, are some common house rules Ive heard about or used at home. Each rule adds its own twist to the game. I welcome you to try them!

Eternal Bonus Squares: I was raised on this one. What was my disappointment when I found out at a friends house that the rules killed the efficacy of the bonus square once it was covered! By deeming them eternal, meaning they remain in force and count every time the word is added to, each move becomes more rewarding than the first. Scores soar into the hundreds. Egos inflate. The skillful player must try to make words that cant be added to, at least when covering a bonus square.

Blank Tile Substitution: This rule keeps the blank tiles in constant circulation. For instance, if someone uses a blank on the board in place of a T, and you later wind up with a T on your rack, you can substitute the real letter and re-use the blank. This is really nice toward the end of the game when everyone is down to the nubs, letter-wise.

Allowable Dictionary Use/Broadening the Word Base: To give the game more educational significance, weve sometimes allowed players to browse the dictionary when it wasnt their turns. This rule is especially helpful for children or beginners, whose vocabulary base may still be limited. If playing against more seasoned opponents, the use of a dictionary, along with offering free challenges, can even the playing field. When my sister and I were learning German we purchased a German Scrabble set and mixed it in with the English letters. Words from either language were allowed. Since letters have varying degrees of usage in different languages the point value and letter distribution will vary among foreign sets. This made our game even more interesting. Scrabble sets can be purchased on the internet in many different languages.

Free Trades: Allowing free trades of the following combinations reduces the element of luck, and can make the game more fun.
Two pair
Three of the same letter
Six vowels
Six consonants

Of course, the blank tile can not be used to substitute for any letter in a trade. Y can be used as a vowel or a consonant, to the players advantage. Only one trade is allowed per turn, although your tiles may be rejected if it restores one of the above conditions to your rack.

Take Two: This last suggestion isnt so much a house rule, but an alternative game which can be played using Scrabble tiles. The number of players is unlimited, and can be practiced alone, or played in a large group. The more players, the faster the game will go. To play, turn all the tiles face down in the middle of the table. Each player draws seven tiles, turning them over in front of him or her. Laying letters in words across and down, players attempt to connect all their letters. The first player to do so calls out, Take two! and everyone draws two more tiles. The game continues until the tiles run out. The winner is the first player to use all his of her tiles. The value of unused tiles is counted and a negative score is recorded. (The winner scores a perfect zero.) This game may be played in successive rounds if a longer version is desired.

The Challenges Of Saltwater Fishing

Whether you are fishing out in the sea or in a river, there are always challenges to get round. It is necessary to have patience and try your utmost to catch the fish when they finally turn up.

First of all, you will need to get a fishing license from your local government and the laws regarding fishing are different depending on what state you live in.For salt water fishing you will have to get a boat. Depending on how many people join you, the vessel size would vary from a row boat to a yacht.

In shore fishing can be done on a fifteen foot sailboat with a cuddy forward to shelter passengers from the rain. The boat needs to be sturdy so that waves or bumps along the beach and rocks dont affect it but it shouldnt be too heavy.

Start by throwing your line out at the edges not the middle so that it doesnt scare the fish away. You will encourage the fish in the middle by sticking to the edges. A cod line will be a benefit to a person who wants to go down below. You can use a perch line as well. If it is mackerel fishing season, you can benefit from a mackerel jig too.

The best time to start fishing is on ebb tide. That is early in the morning because that would make your day more productive and if the wind it light or fair, it would help you on your journey home. Try to find a spot where the locals go fishing. That is your best bet for a successful day.

Dont be too impatient, many anglers would move from one spot onto the next and this motion may reduce your chances that day. Start from the shallowest spot to the deepest, throwing your line out a few times without changing your bait.

Another thing that may affect your fishing chances are sharks. If you have one following you, pour fish blood onto a newspaper or a paper towel. Roll it into a ball and throw it overboard. The sharks will follow the current and the fish will return thereby increasing your likelihood of obtaining fish.

Your Travel and Holiday Money Options

With summer finally getting into full swing, many of us will be looking forward to travelling abroad for a well earned holiday. Of course, you'll need access to cash while you're away, so what are the best and safest ways of arranging your travel money?

1) Local Currency

It's a good idea to take a small amount of local currency with you whenever you travel, if only enough to last you for your first few hours. You'll probably need to arrange travel from the airport to your hotel for example, and local currency is the easiest way to pay for these initial expenses. The exchange rates charged at airports are notoriously expensive, so buy some currency before you leave and you'll get a much better deal.

The drawback to carrying currency is that if it gets lost or stolen, it can't be replaced. For this reason it's best to use another form of travel money for most of your funds.

2) Travellers Cheques

These are the traditional way of carrying money abroad. When you buy the cheques, which can be in Sterling, Euros or US Dollars, you have to sign the stub of each cheque in the presence of the teller. Once abroad, you can convert the cheques into local currency by signing the other half of the cheque at a currency exchange, where the teller will compare the two signatures and also inspect your passport.

This system is more secure than cash as each cheque is uniquely numbered, so if a cheque goes missing it can be quickly cancelled and replaced by the cheque issuer. There is a drawback in that you have to cash the cheques at a currency exchange, and you might not find one offering a good exchange rate.

3) Credit Cards

Credit cards are accepted virtually the world over, and may seem a good way of paying your way while abroad. As well as using them for shopping, they can be used to pay restaurant bills and even to withdraw cash. Before choosing this as your travel money option though, check your card's small print to see what interest rate is charged on overseas use - it will probably be higher than the standard rate of your card, and you'll probably have to pay exchange charges too.

4) Cash Machines

There are now several international cash machine networks in operation, for example the Cirrus network, and it's likely that your cash card can be used internationally, especially in Europe and the USA. This is a good way of financing your holiday spending, as you can draw out what you need while keeping the rest of your money safe in your normal bank account. The downside is that you may have to pay a fee for each withdrawal, and the exchange rate you're charged may not be the best available.

5) Prepaid Cards

These are a relatively new kind of plastic card, which are used in much the same way as credit or debit cards, with the big difference that you have to 'load' the card with funds before you can spend with it. They are a secure way of carrying money, as the card is replaceable if lost, and as it can only be used in conjunction with a PIN number then even if stolen it's difficult for a thief to make use of it. There will, however, still be exchange commissions payable when you use the card, and also usually a flat fee for cash withdrawals.

The main thing to bear in mind with travel money is that while each of the above options is useful, not all are suitable for use everywhere in the world. The best advice is not to rely on a single kind of travel money, but to take a sensible mixture of cash, local currency, and plastic or cheques, to make sure you can always get local currency when you need it. Enjoy your holiday!

Finding And Playing Online Puzzle Sudoku

Sudoku puzzle game is sweeping America and the rest of the world, similar to the type of hold which crossword puzzles had thirty years ago, only faster. You would have probably seen it on advertisements in newspapers, on magazines and newspaper stands or may be your friends and family members are playing it. Even if you do not really understand the name, Sudoku in relation to anything else in the concrete world, yet when you see the playing board, understanding comes pummelling in.

Sudoku puzzle is an intellectually challenging game. It gives the players a sense of satisfaction when they solved the puzzle. This is one of the main reasons why millions of people of all ages around the world are positively addicted to playing Sudoku. It is one of the easiest distractions in life to help us forget the lows of everyday life.

Finding and playing online puzzle Sudoku has been almost a god send for many people, who really enjoy this game of skill and persistence. Playing online puzzle Sudoku has many advantages over simple paper and Sudoku charts.

The most notable benefits of playing online puzzle Sudoku is speed. Playing Sudoku online allows for a constant flow of different charts, rather than having to wait each day for a new chart to come out from the local newspaper. For many people, playing this exciting game more than once a day seems a near necessity. The other choice is to buy a book of puzzles. Again, the number of charts available is very limited. With each puzzle which is solved in a book, a player comes that much closer to running out of charts to keep playing.

You do not have to pay for playing Sudoku puzzle online. It is a simple algorithmic randomizing program which has been used to constantly come up with a new puzzle with each use. Therefore, this creates an infinite number of puzzles which can be solved and without ever again having to pay for a book of puzzles or wait for the next daily newspaper to appear.

Another benefits of playing online puzzle Sudoku is should someone find themselves standing still in the game, or simply stuck, many versions of Sudoku on the internet actually will give hints to the player. While some players may find this anathema to their philosophy of play, others totally appreciate this, as they just need a little help with this challenging game. Many people also view this useful feature as their training tool for improving their skills.

It is no surprise that the internet is now a great source of charts for Sudoku as well as all of the other games which can be found there.

Sabah Malaysia Overview

The second largest state in Malaysia, Sabah is the northernmost province on the island of Borneo and together with Sarawak, is known as east Malaysia.

Called the Land below the wind, probably due to it being situated just south of the typhoon belt it is a popular destination for people looking for something a little different from the rest of Malaysia.

Despite its closeness to Sarawak it shares little of its neighbors tribal diversity and its culture tends to follow the lines of the nearby Philippines though, unlike Sarawak it shares strong Islamic traditions with the rest of peninsular Malaysia.

For those with a taste of adventure, Sabah has got it all. From her golden sanded beaches to her towering mountains and jungles where one of the highest mountains in South-East Asia and popular attractions, Mount Kinabalu proudly reigns.

Among nature lovers, Sabah is legendry and her jungles teem with life, some species of fauna and flora still undiscovered or unrecorded today, lie hidden in her generous, though rapidly decreasing lap.

It is here that you will see the rare and endangered Orang-utan, often known as the Wild man of Borneo, but due to deforestation throughout the area, sightings of these chestnut apes in the wild, is becoming a rarity.

The gateway to Sabah and its capital is the relatively new town of Kota Kinabalu or K.K. as its usually called. This is an excellent stepping off point when visiting other parts of the state and offshore islands in the area.

Climate

Sabah has an equatorial climate. Temperatures rarely rise above 32C except on exceptionally hot days and along the coastal areas rarely drops below 20C at night. Although in the interior and at higher altitudes it can get quite cold at nights. Relative humidity is usually 85-95 per cent.

Rainfall is common throughout the year and varies from about 150 cm to over 450 cm per year. In most parts of Sabah the wetter period occurs during the north-east monsoon from October to February and the drier season during the south-west monsoon from March to September.

Hello From Orlando: An Orlando Jewel, The Wells Built Museum Of African American History And Culture

After I had received a general overview of the history of the Orlando area in the Orange County Regional History Center, I wanted to delve a little deeper into the social history of the Orlando area, and the Wells Built Museum of African American History and Culture was going to give me a more in-depth look into Orlando's African American history.

To this day this area west of I-4 is primarily inhabited by African Americans and the difference in housing and facilities between this area and the downtown area is quite notable. As a matter of fact, the very name "Division Street" points to a distinct historical line of demarcation between black and white residential areas.

The origins of the Wells Built Museum date back to a prominent local African physician by the name of Dr. William Monroe Wells who started building the Well's Built Hotel in 1926 to provide lodging to African Americans during an era of segregation when accommodations were not available to them in other areas of Central Florida.

Next door to the Wells' Built was once the South Street Casino, a performance hall, which featured musicians that traveled the 'Chitlin Circuit' performing for audiences all over the country. The hotel opened with three storefronts on the first floor and hotel rooms on the second floor.

Dr. William Monroe Wells was one of Orlando's first black physicians and came to the area in 1917. Born in Ft. Gaines, Georgia, in 1889, Dr. Wells completed his medical training at Meharry Medical College. During part of WWII, Dr. William Monroe Wells was the only African American physician in Orlando.

During segregation, white physicians did not treat African American patients. African American doctors, therefore, earned their money from people of their own race. He worked very hard to serve the growing African American population in Orlando. With the help of his assistant, Mrs. Josie Belle Jackson, Dr. Wells is known to have delivered over 5,000 babies in Orlando.

He treated patients who suffered from pneumonia, influenza, scarlet fever and other serious illnesses before drugs like penicillin were introduced. Many of Dr. Wells' patients were extremely poor. He treated their illnesses though they many times could not afford to pay his fee. This allowed them to speak forcefully against poor conditions that existed in the African American community without fear of losing their livelihood.

Although African Americans were taxpayers like other residents of Orlando, they did not have access to recreational facilities, good schools, police protection, health care and other services that were provided to white citizens. This led him to build the South Street Casino and the hotel next door.

Dr. Wells booked bands and other big name entertainers to perform at the South Street Casino. Many famous performers that we know today played at South Street Casino within the Chitlin Circuit. A few examples of these performers are:

- Ray Charles
- B.B. King
- Louis Armstrong
- Guitar Slim
- Bo Diddley

African Americans came from all over the surrounding areas to Orlando to shop and take in performances of popular musicians at the South Street Casino. After the performances at the casino, the artists checked in at the historic Wells' Built Hotel. In its heyday, the Wells' Built provided lodging for clientele such as Pegleg Bates, Ella Fitzgerald, Roy Campenella, Thurgood Marshall, and Jackie Robinson. The entertainers and athletes who frequented this establishment made it one of the most popular venues for African Americans in the South.

Today the museum features over 6,000 square feet of display space. It retains the original hotel facade, a guestroom featuring authentic furniture, beading and decorations of the 1930's, and also bears an original interior wall reflecting important architectural elements and designs unique to the period. Exhibition material collected for display include: official hotel documents, an original Negro League baseball jersey, photographs, artifacts, books, multi-media exhibits, slave records and other items of historic significance.

Dr. Well's home has been moved to the site of the Casino and will be restored and opened to the public. The Well's Built Museum of African American Culture and History is located just west of I-4 near Church Street at 511 West South Street, Orlando 32801, tel. (407) 245-7535.

English Superstar - David Beckham Biography

I really thought I knew everything there is about the midfielder, but reading a David Beckham biography I found out more about the man behind the superstar. That's why I decided to write my own biography of David Beckham, to share to you the player behind the million dollar endorsements.

David Beckham Biography Manchester United

David Beckham's story starts out near London, where he was born to a family of Manchester United fans. Despite being so close to clubs like West Ham United, Arsenal or Chelsea, Beckham's aim was always the Red Devils club. As luck would have it, on his fourteenth birthday, he was taken in the Manchester youth program, and he even starred next to the senior team...as a mascot.

Just 4 years later, he went on to play for Sir Alex Ferguson's senior squad, but his performance still needed fine tuning, so he was loaned to Preston North End for a year, returning to Manchester with some match experience. He quickly gained his place in the squad, despite his young age and became one of Manchester's most preeminent players during the following decade.

His most successful season with Manchester is undoubtedly 1999, when the club achieved the Treble (League, Cup and Champions League in the same season) and with David Beckham playing soccer like never before.

It's around then that he "trademarked" his famous free kicks and crosses and seeing some footage of David Beckham in action during that period will shed all doubts as to whether or not his superstardom status has a solid basis in his playing style, or just his good looks.

David Beckham Biography 1998 World Cup Incident

His career did have a few rough moments, the most notable one being in 1998 with the English national side, at that year's World Cup. In the Second Round, where England would play Argentina, Beckham was taunted by Argentinean midfielder Diego Simeone and he responded with a swing towards the player, which earned him a red card for bad behavior on the pitch.

With England losing the match and being knocked out of the tournament, all blame fell on David Beckham, as the English newspapers put him against the wall and fired up some poisonous articles. Any other player would have stayed low, or even quit soccer, but David Beckham's ambition brought him back to the top. His performance with Manchester the following year, earned him back the respect of his fans and the entire world.

David Beckham Biography Real Madrid

By the time David Beckham moved to Real Madrid in 2003, he was already a well-known star on the international stage. In his four years with the Madrid club he managed to win the Spanish league once, but his performance was deemed poorer than what he was playing at Manchester.

Many attributed this loss of form due to the new system found at Real and the fact that at Madrid he wasn't the "star" of the team anymore, since he was playing next to other internationally famous soccer players like Zinedine Zidane, Raul or Roberto Carlos.

David Beckham Biography Los Angeles Galaxy

Moving to play in the United States for the Los Angeles Galaxy as of 2007 earned him one of the biggest contracts in the history of soccer and it was an offer David couldn't have refused, despite the fact that the soccer level in the United States is not as high as the one practiced in Spain.

Tournament Bass Fishing, Is it for You?

I remember my dad taking me and my brothers fishing in Michigan many years ago. We would often go to a local river, lake or cut to fish for perch, bluegills or anything else that would hit. Often, the fish weren't biting and my dad and brothers would want to pack up and go home. I would almost always ask to stay a little bit longer but usually the answer was a vote, and I normally lost.

I distinctly remember a trip to a Michigan cut, off of Lake Huron, when supposedly the perch were running. After a couple of hours soaking minnows, we had not caught a thing. My dad had a friend who lived within a mile of the cut and told us to pack it up and we'll all get warmer at his buddies house. I complained as usual and asked him if I could stay because I thought the fish would start biting when the water started warming up later in the day. He took a while to answer and replied "Paul, aren't you cold? Let's warm up at my buddy's place. Besides, the fish aren't biting." Of course my answer was, "Dad, please can I stay longer? I know they'll start biting." Dad said, " You know Paul, you must love fishing. I'll tell you what, you can fish for a couple of hours and I'll take Mark and Matt with me unless they want to stay." Was I ever happy and of course my brothers didn't want to stay, so they took off with dad.

It was cold, about 40 degrees and I checked/changed my minnow every 5 minutes or so. I'd cast up the cut, down the cut, changed my spot but nothing seemed to want my bait. I was watching my line (no bobber) when finally I got a bite. Jerked on the pole and reeled in a 10" perch. Within about 10 minutes I caught about 5 perch, stringered them all up and time expired as my dad and brothers came to pick me up. Darn, I wish they had stayed at my dad's buddies house a little longer.

Well guess what, they were so surprised that I caught some fish, we got to stay a couple more hours and we came home with a nice bucket of yellow bellied perch (Mmmm, these were delicious).

Prerequisites for a Tournament Bass Fisherman:

So what's my point? The point is that you either love to fish, even if they aren't biting or you like to do it once in awhile. If you love fishing as I do, you can be very competitive in bass tournaments, while if you only want to fish once in awhile, you won't be too successful. If you are the latter, just fish for fun and save your tournament entry money.

Another prerequisite for a good bass tournament fisherman is the will to compete. If you are laid back, just like to cast your line out and wait for the fish to hit, then tournament fishing isn't for you. I grew up playing baseball, running some track and enjoyed these sports. I also had a bunch of brothers, so competition has been instilled in my personality. In fact, whenever I get together with my best bass fishing buddy (met him in Gainesville, Florida while going to UF for my degree) either fishing for fun or prefishing for a tournament, we are always raz each other. If he has more fish, he'll yell something my way saying something like "So, when you going to learn how to fish" or " That's a sissy bait your throwing, no wonder you can't catch any fish!" Big fish also has the braggin rights and usually we tease each other with sayings like this, "How many more dinks ya gonna catch?" or "My one fish outweighs all 3 of yours", etc. It's always competitive, so if you have this spirit in your blood, then you can be a good tournament fisherman.

How to Start Bass Fishing in Tournaments:

OK- So you think you have met the prereqs and want to tournament fish. Here's my first suggestion, join a local bass club. There are many published bass club lists on the internet, so just Google with "Bass clubs your state" for a list to start with. You could also inquire at a local lake and talk to some fishermen there.

There are two types of bass clubs: 1- Draw tournament and 2- Team tournaments. The draw clubs have boaters and non-boaters prior to the tournament launch, the boaters are paired with non boaters through a random draw out of a hat. If possible, try this club style 1st and fish a few tournaments as a non-boater. You will be surprised how much you didn't know about bass fishing when you see how your boater partner fishes. It's great to learn from more experienced anglers!

The team type clubs have the same non boater and boater teamed up all year long. If you have a good fishing buddy that you want to fish with, go ahead and join this type. The main disadvantage of this style of tournament fishing is that your learning curve for competitive fishing is much longer because you don't have any experienced tournament fishermen to learn from. You'll miss out on some special tips on how to flip, pitch, sidearm cast, prevent splashes during pitching, Texas rig correctly, etc. If you do this style, read a lot of online information and perhaps subscribe to Bassin' or Bassmaster magazine (I think FLW also has one).

So, you followed my recommendation and want to join a draw style club tournament so what's next. You will usually need to attend their club meetings. In the south, there's usually one club meeting a month while in the north it maybe as often as twice a month because of their limited fishing season. At the club meeting they usually discuss new members, tournament results, payouts, the next tournaments location and a sundry of items. In that meeting, you usually decide to go boater or non boater. After this, the boater is paired with the non boater and you'll find out who your partner will be. If there are more boaters than non boaters, it's usually worked out who will be the boater through a rule or through negotiation between the paired boaters. During the meeting, get your partners phone number so you can call him. During this meeting, the boat launch position is usually announced as well.

Prior to the actual tournament call your partner. When you get a hold of him ask him the following questions:

1- Do you want me to come to your house and we can go together or do you want to just meet at the ramp? Tell him you will share all gas expenses with him which is the norm for draw tournaments or team tournaments for that matter. Of course you don't have to pay for his truck gas if he says just meet him at the ramp. You will always need to split the cost of the boat gas!

2- How many rods can I bring and how much tackle ? Can I bring my cooler or do you have one for my drinks? If the boater has a small boat, he may ask you to downsize the amount of equipment to bring. This is a common courtesy, besides you are using his boat aren't you?

3- Do I need to bring my lifejacket? Lifejackets are a mandatory item for bass tournaments, however your boating partner may already have 2 and your extra one may only crowd the boat. Ask him just in case he doesn't have an extra, or he doesn't like strangers using them out of courtesy.

4- What time do you want me at your house or ramp? There's nothing more aggravating to a boater than a late non boater. Usually the boater will "pad" the travel time with an hour or so to allow for gas stops, snack stops and possible flat tires. So if your are not spending the night before at a local hotel near the lake, be ready to get up very early to make the trip to the boaters house or be ready for an early pickup by the boater. Just be ready when the boater asks you to be.

5- Would you like me to make some sandwiches for you? Although not a mandatory question, it is a nice offer and the boater will be more willing to help you during the tournament.

I probably forgot some questions, but please ask the ones I listed. Things will go a lot more smooth if you do.

Pre Tournament Preparation

Prefishing: The most neglected part of pre-tournament preparation is the lack of pre-fishing. If you are a boater or non-boater, just like a class in high school or college, if you don't do your homework you will not do well on your test. Just think of the tournament as a test and pre-fishing as homework.

Pre-fishing involves checking out the lake where the tournament is to take place prior to the actual tournament. No matter how many times you have been successful on this lake in the past, you should pre-fish to find the dominant pattern for the current weather conditions, water levels, cover and time of the year. Try to pre-fish as close to possible to the tournament date. During prefishing, never stick more than 2 fish in one spot, and if the fish are not very active such as in cold fronts, you may want to limits it to 1 fish. After that, use hooks with the barbs removed if you want further verification that the bass concentration is good and don't set the hook on any more hits in that area. If you are sight fishing, just use your GPS to mark the spots and maybe toss a hook less bait to verify that the fish would be willing to hit the bait.

Try a variety of baits and locations during prefishing. GPS all of the spots that produced fish and note the cover/depth and weather conditions when/where you caught fish. If you are the non-boater, it is still your obligation to pre-fish if you have a boat. You need to help your partner as much as possible, and you never know as you may have better spots than your boating partner. Try prefishing with a partner. The partner does not have to be your boater/non boater, but the more lines in the water with various baits, the more likely you will find the successful pattern.

Fishing Tackle: Make sure your reels have good line on them i.e. the line is not old or has not taken too much set resulting in tight curly loops. Replace the line if necessary. Lube up your reels if time permits.

Retie all lures with fresh knots while removing the 1st couple of feet of line. You never know if you have nicks or knot abrasion from your last fishing trip. If you still have plastics on your hook, throw them away, leave the hook barren until the day of the tournament, then put on your soft plastic. This retains the smell/scent of the bait.

Be sure you have adequate fish scent for your soft plastics as well as enough toothpicks for Texas rigged baits. Make sure you pack your pliers and clippers.

Sharpen all of your hooks. If possible replace your worm hooks with new ones. Crankbaits such as Rattletraps often have dull hooks. Replace them with sharper ones like Gamagatzu's.

While pre-fishing, tune your lipped crankbaits by bending the eye so they run straight.

Finally, use a rod cover if possible prior to storing the rods in your rod locker (it's also good for the non boater). This will not only protect the rods, but will prevent the rods from tangling inside your box.

Boat Gear and Tow Vehicle: As a boater you need to check the following:

1- 2 cycle oil reservoir is filled and take an extra gallon if possible.

2- Fill up the gas tank or at least put in enough to last the whole tournament.

3- Charge up your trolling motor batteries and big motor battery.

4- Check your trailer tires/tow vehicle tires for air pressure and lube the trailer wheel bearings via the zerk fitting.

5- Fill up your tow vehicle and check the oil and antifreeze.

6- Bring an inexpensive 12V air inflator and tire plug kit. These work great in case you get a screw/nail in either your tow vehicle or trailer tire.

7- Make sure your vehicle jack will work on your trailer, if not you may need to buy a bottle jack for your trailer in case it gets a flat.

8- Make sure your spare tires have air in them.

9- Always hook up your safety chains when towing and check your winch strap/cable for any signs of wear.

10- Be sure to plug in your trailer lights

11- Put in your boat plug just to be on the safe side. If it is raining you can always bilge or pull out your plug at the ramp. It's better than trying to get the boat back on the trailer when it's sinking because you forgot to put the plug in!

12- Check your boat lights out to make sure they work.

13- Make sure you bring your raingear and lifejackets.

14- Make sure you have non expired flares, fire extinguishers and whistle or horn.

15- Check your boat registration/trailer registration. I leave these in a compartment in my boat.

16- Pack your float markers.

17- Bring your fishfinder and GPS.

18- Check all your trailer and tow vehicle lights.

19- Bring your weigh in bags.

There's probably some other things, but this list should always be checked.

Boat Ramp Launch Preparation and Launch: 1st, make sure you leave early enough to get to the boat ramp at least one hour before safelight. Safelight does not equal sunrise! It is usually 30 minute to an hour before sunrise. Bass tournaments start the launch process at safelight.

Bass tournament fishermen are often impatient. That's their competitive nature going to work and rookies at boat ramps are often aggravating to tournament fishing pros. The main reason is the amount of time the rookies take to launch their boat.

When you get to the ramp and you are approaching a line of boats switch to your parking lights only (as long as you can see in front of you). This helps the fishermen who are launching their boats see the ramp and the path their boat is taking while they back up. Bright headlights in their eyes while backing up blinds them!

While in line, both you and your partner need to make launch preparations. here's the list:

1- Keep your parking lights on and exit the vehicle.

2- Remove your boat straps, transom saver and double check that your boat plug is in.

3- If a vehicle ahead of you pulls up, get back in your vehicle and pull up again. This will prevent a line forming that goes out to the main highway.

4- Prime your fuel bulb in your boat.

5- Put in your boat lights.

6- Lower your motor to a lower position, but not to low as to hit the ground while going over bumps/grade.

7- Make sure everything is out of the tow vehicle and in your boat that you are going to take. If there is a boat check in the line, open up your livewells and your compartments so the check can be done quickly.

8- If you are next in line to launch, line up the tow vehicle and boat to the ramp. If the non boater can, have him back in the boat with you in it. Make sure you tell him to close all windows, bring the keys and lock up the vehicle after he parks. Tell him to watch you for hand signals as the backup lights will light you up and that you will be having him stop when the tires first touch water. This is so you can undo the bow strap/cable. Also have him open up the side window so he can here you just in case something happens or he misunderstands your hand signals. Usually a come here motion with your hands means keep backing up while a palm forward (like a policeman stop) means stop. Tell him to take his time. A point to the left or right means that the boat needs to go that way, while a straight back come here means to go straight back.

9- When the tires 1st hit the water (this is approx. and may vary according to what you like), indicate a stop. Go to the front and undo your bow strap. Get back in the boat driver seat, and have the non boater come back until the boat is floating, then give him the stop signal. Give him the go forward signal (motion forward) so he can park.

10- Lower your motor the rest of the way for carbureted motors (not necessary for EFI systems) and put your idle bar in the best position to start . Prime the motor by holding the key in (most motors) and start the motors. Get out of the way of the ramp as soon as you can and find a spot to beach or dock.

11- Turn on your boat lights.

12- Warm your engine until it's warm enough that it will be easy to start at launch time. Then turn it off.

13- Plug your livewells.

14- While your partner makes his way back to your boat, get the rods out you are going to use and strap them in with your Rod Savers or bungies on your front deck.

15- Use your flashlight and get your soft plastics on.

16- Now your ready for the pre-tournament meeting.

Pre-tournament meeting:

This meeting is usually held when all fishermen have launched their boats. It may start before if there are late arrivers, but those late arrivals will just miss the meeting.

During the meeting, the size limit, the number of fish per fisherman or boat, off limits, weigh in time and other items will be discussed. Make sure you get the weigh in time and the official time. The official time is the one announced that corresponds to the tournament directors time. Therefore offset your watch to match the tournaments official time.

Once the meeting is over, go to your boat, dawn your lifejackets and attach your kill switch. Don't start your motor until it gets closer to your launch number. This just makes it easier to hear the tournament director.

If the boat check is on the water, idle slowly by the check point with livewells running. They will signal you to go if they see you are clear.

When your boat number is called idle beyond all other boats, once you have cleared them, get on plane quickly so you don't hold up the line. Never start to plane if there are alot of boats idling in your planing path. Just use common sense here as no one likes to have a wave come over the sides of their boat when another boat planes right next to them!

Tournament Time

If you and your partner did your "homework", you won't be doing a lot of lure changing, tying lures or running around the lake trying to find biting bass. If there was a major cold front or other major change like water level drop, you may have to adjust. Still rely on the spots you caught fish in pre-fishing but you may have to flip or go to the next closest dropoff to find the fish you located during practice.

The non boater must respect the boaters preferences, however if you developed a good rapport prior to the tournament, things will go much smoother. The non boater usually has rights to 50% of the front of the boat during a club tournament. In some big tournaments this is not the case. If you want the front, just be courteous and ask. If the boater says no, don't bring it up any further and do the best you can from the back. A boater that always says no to a non boaters request will often be found out at a later time and will no longer be welcome in that club.

If you are a non boater and fishing from the back of the boat always cast towards the front or side of the boat, never behind when working a weed/timber line. Just respect the boaters line and never cast over his line or into the path of the trolling motor.

If you are the boater, just remember when you 1st started and how unfair it was when that boater never let you up front. Don't you remember the club murmurs of a certain individual that constantly backboated his partner, elbows out like a chicken so there was no way a non boater could effectively cast. I guess this is the biggest downside of a draw tournament!

When you catch your 1st fish, quickly measure it, closed mouth on a metal ruler like the "Golden Rule". Make sure it measures as not only can you be penalized at weigh in but you could get a ticket from the wildlife officer. Close the drain plugs for your livewells if you haven't already and turn on the aerators. Put the fish in the livewell as soon as possible. When the livewells are full, I like to switch over to recirculate and put my timer on.

If you gut hook a fish, I normally leave the hook in it's stomach and cut of the line. This will do a lot less damage than ripping out the hook.

If you get a limit, I cull by weighing all my fish and using a numbered float system. For example, #1 float = 2.8 pounds, #2= 1.5 pounds, etc.. I record this on a piece of paper. When I get my next fish over the limit, I release the lightest one and place the new weight on the paper for that float number. Hopefully you'll be doing this all day long, but remember never to have more fish in your livewell than the limit.

Netting fish properly is also very important. The last thing you want to do is to wack the fish in the side or the head and knock off the fish. When your partner has a fish on, quickly reel in your line and get the net. Try to get the net near the water, when the fish approaches, try to net it by submerging the net before the fish and getting it head first. That way the fish is swimming into the net rather than away from it. Never hit your partners line or the side of the fish with the net. Usually your partner will let you know when to net, but you must be ready!

If it is hot, be sure to add ice to your livewells on occasion. Also make sure you use sunscreen.

When it gets close to tournament weigh in time, remind each other of what time it is and how long it's going to take. Make time adjustments according to weather conditions. A thunderstorm or high winds in the afternoon will likely double or triple the time it took you to get to your spot. Just make sure you adjust for this.

It's time to go, so put on your lifejackets, attach the kill switch and go!

Weigh In

If there is a big line, keep your fish in the livewell so they don't have to be in un-oxygenated weigh in bag. When the time is close, quickly move your fish into the weigh bags being careful that the fish don't jump out of your livewells (Hmmm, has this ever happened to me) and into the lake. For the too close for comfort fish, re-measure and if not sure ask the tournament director for a courtesy measure. This will prevent measurement of short fish and a hefty penalty.

Watch the scales while your fish are being weighed. If the scale doesn't closely match your culling weigh paper, ask for a retare of the scale if possible. Sometimes the scales mess up do to low battery or wind conditions.

If your in the money, congrats! Shake the tournament directors hand with a big smile on your face.

If you got the prereqs, you've got to try tournament bass fishing! So pre-fish and Do ore Catching with Less Fishing.

Sincerely,

The Largemouth Herald

Weight Training and Baseball

Baseball is known as perhaps one of the most inactive sports there is-by this I mean you dont really have to be a top athlete to actually be the best at the game! Compared to other games there is far lese activity and running!

However strength is crucial in this game!

When you are strong, you can hit harder, you can be quicker at base-running and you will have stronger throws- all of which are the needed to win the game.

And isnt that what all baseball players want to have the ability to hit home runs with ease? And make flying passes at the bases beating the throwers to the plate?

Now you can say that some players are gifted and can hit home runns without much training. But for most players , strength training is crucial if they want to excel at the game!

Fact is, you can be as strong and just as good as the most talented players through a solid weight training program no matter how skillful you are right now, your speed, muscle endurance and power can all be improved!.

It is undeniable what a good weight program can do to improve your game.

Evidence of this can be seen on T.V. you will find some baseball players arent as fast as they may be fit and they always get taken out at the plate by a faster player

Baseball primarily involves explosive movements with little endurance movements involved in it

For example -a slugger hits the ball then explodes to the plate then waits there until the next slugger finally hits another strike-which could send him to wait at the next base.

As you can see there is very little endurance required in baseball and there is more than enough time to catch your breathe at each play , plus you also get to rest after you pass home base.

So all baseball players should focus on explosive training workouts for both their upper and lower bodies.

The main focus however should be on upper body strength development!

However the best workout that any baseball player can perform is neuromuscular training, neuromuscular training is important for one reason, it improves neuromuscular efficiency which is the rate at which your brain sends signals to your muscles (hands and arms- which is crucial for hitters).

Neuromuscular strength is what allows encourages faster swings and better hits.

However when it comes to pitching its a different story because a pitcher also has to be in good overall shape because pitching a baseball requires the work of the whole body: legs, abs, arms and chest

And its focus should be on explosive strength training, endurance is also crucial. I refer to endurance of the arms -pitchers need endurance in the arms because they have to pitch the ball repeatedly throughout the whole game.

All baseball players however can benefit from a good weight training program. Strength training will give every baseball player-Better performance, injury avoidance/career longevity, improved recovery rate, improve pitching speed, sustaining/increasing muscle strength and balance, and improved upper body strength

You cant argue with these results. Fact is, a stronger baseball player will always out perform an average baseball player if we assume they have the same skills!

Now as for a Hitter

A hitter needs to have strong arms for better bat swings etc .the main muscle for both a hitter and pitcher are the shoulder muscles. So emphasis should be placed on both the shoulders and arms!

The muscles of the shoulders are the main muscle for pitching and swinging.

And exercises that are good for hitting and pitching are: Internal/external rotation at 90 degrees bent-over raises medial rotation raises Dumbbell shrugs and Lateral raises

Hitters also need to have good neuromuscular connection its a must in almost all sports but more so in baseball

Hitters should perform their workouts with a repetition range of 3 to 4 to encourage neuromuscular strength development! This should be followed by a set of 6 to 8 repetitions on the next set to encourage maximum strength development.

And then finally a third set of 3 to 4 reps to encourage explosive strength development.

So all baseball players other than hitters need to follow the same method of training, using 4 sets that combine neuromuscular training with strength training to yield total muscular development!

This way of exercising will give hitters explosive power in their arms, the neuromuscular strength that his exercise builds will cause the hitter to have faster reaction times and allow them to hit that ball clear out of the park- which is helpful in winning games

Plus baseball players could benefit from swinging the bat as a drill! Swing drills combine Nero muscular training and strength training which will make the arms faster, stronger and leaner

Also needed for baseball is a strong lower body-.some baseball players prefer to perform plyometrics exercises in order to gain speed and power for more explosive runs.

One popular baseball plyometrics exercise is bounding which is excellent for increasing speed and explosiveness.

To make plyometrics exercises more effective, you need to perform squats which is an universal exercise for working out the entire lower body

Squats should be used by all baseball players to increase muscle strength and explosiveness. Other good lower body workouts include: squats, lunges .leg raises, hamstring curls and calf raises.

There is another effective way to increase batting strength and speed and that is using a heavy bat to hit the ball!

A heavy bat is a baseball that is weighted and is used by hitters to swing at balls. This exercise drill stimulates the exact muscles used during a swing, so It is most efficient exercise you can perform for increasing hitting power and speed. Caution should however be used when using a heavy bar because there is a risk of injury of flinging heavy weights.

Now we move onto strength training for pitchers!

The weight training program here differs slightly; it becomes more specific because pitchers need arms that are powerful as well as enduring

They also need the endurance to last the whole baseball game
They should also use a variety of exercises to develop the whole body!
All workouts should be compromised of strength training, plyometrics and endurance training.
Here is an example of what a pitcher weight workout would look like:

Bench press
Flies
Should presses
Dumbbell front raise
Upright rows
Dumbbell flies
Bicep curl
Preacher curl
Triceps extensions
Front face extensions
Squats
Leg raises
Hamstring curls
Calf raises

As a general rule, perform 3-4 sets each and train explosively with repetitions in the 4-8 rep range!

More specifically: Pitchers will need to use 3 to 4 reps for power and mix it up with 10 to 16 reps for endurance.

Hitters might also perform 3 full sets of power repetitions! By that I mean, they should use 3 to 4 reps to build neuromuscular strength and power, which they will need for both throwing the ball and lasting throughout the whole game.

When it comes to medicine ball workouts, it should consist of

Medicine ball chest passes
Over head passes
Medicine ball crunches

This medicine ball workout increase power and neuromuscular efficiency

Which also helps to improve the range of motion and power of the body- because they will be performing explosive movements in a wide range of motion, which will develop power and increase the range of motion in the pitchers body.

For example, the medicine ball chest passes will increase explosive power in the arms and chest, which will help with the power of the pitchers pitch.

Plyometrics baseball exercises would consist of the following:

Bounding jumps
Squat jumps
Lunge jumps

Camping Gear - What You Need to Know

There's something about heading off to visit Mother Nature, with nothing but you, lots of trees and a cheerful campfire. It's the best way to experience total peace and quiet. There are no other people, no smog, nothing to do but relax for the weekend. If this sounds irresistible to you, then make sure you do some planning before you head off.

Check out what sort of camping gear you already have. While you might be keen to escape the modern world, it might not be so much fun if you're sleeping on hard ground with a thin sleeping bag and it starts to rain. Don't worry if you don't have all the gear you need for your great escape into nature. If you look online you'll find plenty of sites where you can look at camping gear, compare different styles and brands, then buy what's right for you.

It can be a bit more difficult to know what you need if you've never been camping before. Generally, a tent is necessity. You can chance the weather, but that's only for the very hardy souls! Perhaps if you're going to be close to some well protected caves you can get away without a tent, but otherwise you'll be very glad you have one when that thunderstorm rolls in. Persistent insects and wildlife are also less of a nuisance when you're in a tent.

If you're planning on cooking any food over the campfire, a good campfire grill makes life much easier. If there are fire restrictions or there's no wood available for a campfire, then take along a camping stove. You'll also need some basic cooking utensils, including some pans. Never use your best utensils out of the kitchen; they inevitably get burnt, melted, lost or almost impossible to clean.

Just in case the stars aren't sufficient, a strong torch with fresh batteries or a camping lantern can help. If you need to go wandering in the night, you'll want to be able to check out your surroundings. For sleeping, make sure your sleeping bag is suitable for the conditions you'll be encountering. If you have a lightweight summer bag and it starts to snow, you won't get much sleep because you'll be shivering the whole night.

If you're really planning to get away from the world, to the point that you won't be near your car at night, then you'll need a backpack to carry everything with you. Modern designs are truly wonderful, with all sorts of features to make carrying a pack more comfortable. You can find packs suitable for anything you might plan to do, including strolling round a local park right through to heavy going trekking in the wilderness. Take the time to think about what you need to use the backpack for, perhaps even visit a camping store and chat to the salesperson, but if you choose wisely you won't regret it.

Remember, in the end it's important to travel light when you're going camping. You don't want to have so much stuff in your backpack that you can't even lift it! It's easy to get carried away and buy far too many things and spend a lot of money, but it doesn't need to be that way. Take the time to think about the sort of camping you're likely to do, where you're likely to go, what the weather conditions will probably be, and then choose carefully. By doing that, you'll get the maximum use out of whatever camping gear you buy, and so you'll get great value for money.

A Quick Guide For New Coarse Anglers

If youve just taken up coarse fishing, or youre thinking about it, you might find it helpful to learn a little more about the sport. Coarse fishing is tremendously popular, and with fish ranging from small roach at under 1lb to giant carp, theres something for everyone.

If youre coarse fishing in the UK, the first thing you need to do is get a rod licence. You must have this licence in order to fish in any water even if you have the owners permission.

Tackle

The type and quantity of tackle you choose to buy is important. Seasoned coarse anglers have a wide range of equipment, collected over the years and, in some cases, adapted for a particular use. As a novice, you wont need to invest in all this expensive tackle at one go, but there are a few essential items:

Rods there are beginners rods available, and a good tackle shop will be able to talk you through the advantages and disadvantages of this type of rod. Many coarse anglers think that a beginners rod is too short, and advise a lightweight 10ft rod instead. The choice is yours, but make sure that you buy the best rod that you can afford, because it will last longer, and be more use to you as you become more proficient.

Lines as a new angler, you should start with a light line, so that you can get used to handling the rod and catching the smaller fish. Line comes in different materials and weights, so speak to your local tackle shop to see what they stock and what will be best for you.

Reels there are only three types of reel, but each of those types has its own range. A fixed reel is best for beginners, because you dont need the gearing of a multiplier reel and the revolving centre pin reel doesnt give you the flexibility you need. Again, ask for advice when it comes to matching your reel to your rod and line.

Hooks the types of hook you can use could be the subject of a separate article. Some of the hooks wont be any use to you until youve mastered the basics of angling, so get a good beginners selection from your tackle shop, which will be happy to help.

Once you have your basic equipment, including bait, a seat-box and a landing net, then find a local lake where there will be someone on hand to help, and go and see what coarse fishing is all about.

History of Netball in the UK

Netball is said to have originated in UK in 1895 from Madame Osterberg's College (now Dartford PE College under Greenwich University) in Dartford, Kent. It came over as a form of basketball from USA. The college has produced many netball players who became renouned in UK. Before that, the first netball in the history of the world was played in 1891 in America (Springfield, Massachusetts), where it was known as Womens Basketball. A 30-year-old Canadian immigrant to the USA, James Naismith, was ordered to create a high-spirited indoor game for young men at the School for Christian Workers (later called the YWCA).The visiting American academic team who visited England in 1895 offered to teach the game of netball to the locals. They fixed two waste paper baskets on two opposite walls with the help of nails as the basic arrangement of the game. The balls were thrown into the baskets fixed on the two walls, in the oldest games of netball. Although the rules of the oldest games of netball played in UK were very different from that played today, the women of England nevertheless got an engagement for themselves that became popular among them. England enthusiastically accepted the game and the rules were standardized and a governing body was formed to look after these. 8 Top Tips for Becoming a Professional Gambler in Horse Racing, Poker and Other Sports

Most folk are under the opinion that professional gamblers have one bet, play one game of poker, or some other form of gambling, and then collect the winnings and go back to their big mansion for a few months rest, before having another gamble!!

I pray it was like that, but in valid life it is vastly different. I personally work 10-12 hours a day, 360 days a year, and still do a bit on the days off, including Christmas day. When you see professional poker players they are spending 3-5 days at a table in a game every week, sometimes sitting for 12 hours, and when they are not doing that, they are at home playing poker on the computer.

So if you are looking for a relaxing life, do not take up betting as a profession. Yes it can pay well, very well, but you need to put in a lot of work, and it can be 2-3 years before you are making any meaningful hard cash. Anyone who tells you otherwise is possibly lying just to receive your hard cash.

When you see tipping advertisers stating things like "We made $26,000 to $100 stakes in the last 12 months", it looks sensational. However, they need to receive your attention as a 1/8th ad in a paper costs around $500, and they need that money back before turning a profit. And how innumerable average gamblers have $100 to bet, especially when you need a betting bank, and with $100 stakes, the cash you need before you even place one bet is around $3,500, any less and you can easily blow it all. Then divide the $26,000 by the $100 to work out how many points you make a year, and that is 260, then divide by 52 to see how numerous points profit a week, and that comes to 5pts a week. Wow!! If you are just starting off you are likely to only be using a realistic $5, so that is $25 a week average. That may not sound much but you have to learn to walk before you can run. If you cannot profit with 10c bets, how the hell will you profit with $100 bets?

Also think why various tipsters advertise every day. This is because they have such a considerable turnover; they need to keep replenishing the customer base. This does not always mean the tipster is rubbish, in some cases they may be profitable long term, but the average Joe Punter always wants profit NOW and every day, and average Joe points more than 5 points per week, whereas a full time professional would be happy with that.

If you are going to gamble to profit, then for the inaugural few months this should be your conditioning were you will be doing a lot of work for little return, but you will also learn how to handle losing runs, how to cope with mistakes, and if it does all go improper and you lose the betting bank, you should have learnt a lot from it for as little loss as possible, as you should only ever bet what you can afford to lose, especially while proving to yourself you can profit. You may have a spare $10,000 available, but prove you can profit with a $1000 bank maiden, and then add to the bank monthly.

So here are the 8 tips you need to learn, and stick to religiously if you want to stand a chance of ever making money from gambling.

1. Patience: If you want big profits now, try the lottery. Building up you betting banks takes time a lot of time.

2. Betting Banks: If you do not have a betting bank to emergence with, and you are just betting from whatever is in your pocket, you will never make a profit. It is as simple as that. Most punters lie to themselves that they are breaking even. Do not do that, be truthful.

3. Staking: You see betting plans for sale on EBay, most of them may make you a few dollars quickly, but it is 100% guaranteed they will bust your bank as these are designed by amateurs who have no understanding of gambling maths in the real world. Always onset with levels, if you cannot make hard cash with that simple staking plan you will not make bankroll with anything more complicated. Once you have proven over a few months you can turn a profit with level stakes, and then you can switch to each bet being between 1%-3% of the bank. Most professionals will emergence at 3%, but get it down to 1% as the bank grows.

4. Bank Management: Managing banks is not just staking, it also involves listing every bet on a spreadsheet so you can monitor things like average odds, strike rate, losing runs, etc. If you do not list every bet, you will have no idea where you stand, and no way of having data to look back and learn from.

5. Risk Management: Most people follow one tipster, or one system. This is usually suicide, you do not see the big boys in the city markets investing everything in one stock do you? No. They spread it around, and so should you. Use a number of systems, proven tipsters, method bets, etc. And ensure you have a separate betting bank for each (you can use the same betting account, as the spreadsheets you keep will tell you the amount which is in each bank).

6. Alcohol: NEVER drink while betting, you will bet more than you should, you will bust banks, you will play bets you would never do when sober.

7. Forums: Join a forum where you can bite ideas, this can prove a powerful aid, but make sure it is a decent one, and not full of idiots just spouting off how good they are!

8. Fun Bets: You are often told not to do any 'fun bets' if you wish to turn professional, but this will not happen, as it is hard to break old habits at first. The best way to treat fun bets is to handle them as you would any pro bets. Separate betting bank, list all bets, and it will not be long before you lose the bank and realise how wonderful your own tipping is!

This advice goes for betting in any country, on horseracing, greyhounds, soccer, NFL, poker, etc.

You can also find innumerable free horse racing systems, staking systems, poker systems, on the internet, ignore them, they are only free for a reason, as they lose hard cash.

These days it is possible to receive horseracing software, poker software, etc that can facilitate you, they will only make you hard cash if you are already doing so, they just enhance your skills, not make them. Search the web for reviews on every product before parting with any money; ask people on forums which software is the best.
